Is it necessary to set a login password?

While it is not strictly necessary to set a login password for your Votars account if you are using third-party login options, it is strongly recommended to ensure the security and privacy of your data.

  1. Third-Party Login:

    • Option Available: You can use third-party platforms such as Google, Microsoft, or other supported services to log in to your Votars account without setting a traditional password.
    • Seamless Access: This provides a seamless and quick login process, leveraging the security of the third-party service provider.

  2. Password Recommendation:

    • Security Enhancement: Although not mandatory, setting up a unique and strong password for your Votars account enhances security. It provides an additional layer of protection beyond third-party authentication.
    • Recommended Practice: We strongly advise setting a password to secure your account further.

  3. Password Rules:

    • Length: The password should be between 8 to 20 characters.
    • Complexity: It must include at least three of the following four types: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.

  4. Account Equivalence:

    • Same Account: Using the same email to log in via third-party platforms and email-password login will be treated as accessing the same Votars account.

  5. Password Setup Post Third-Party Login:

    • Scenario

      : If you initially log in using a third-party platform and later wish to use an email-password combination, but haven't set a password yet:

      • Solution: You can set a password through the "Forgot Password?" option. This allows you to establish a password for your account even if one was not previously set.

Example Workflow for Setting Password After Third-Party Login​

  1. Go to the Login Page:
    • Visit the Votars login page.
  2. Forgot Password:
    • Click on the “Forgot Password?” link below the login fields.
  3. Enter Email:
    • Enter the email address you used for third-party login.
  4. Receive Reset Email:
    • Check your email inbox for a password reset link from Votars. If it doesn’t appear, check your spam or junk folder.
  5. Set New Password:
    • Follow the link and set a new password that meets the security requirements:
      • 8-20 characters in length.
      • Includes at least three types from uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.
  6. Confirmation:
    • Receive a confirmation that your password has been set. You can now use this password to log in along with your email.
